In a momentous first for the Gwangju Biennale, the Norge Pavillion is set to make an indelible mark on the global art stage. As the Biennale celebrates its 30th anniversary, this year’s event will feature an exclusive showcase of contemporary Filipino artistry, offering a new perspective on the intersection of culture and innovation.
From September 7 to December 1, 2024, the Asia Culture Center’s Gallery 5 in Gwangju, Korea will host the Norge Pavilion’s distinguished exhibition, Locations of Freedom. Curated by the esteemed Avie Felix, this pavilion will present a masterful selection of works by seven leading Filipino artists, including Adjani Arumpac, Sari Dalena, Toym Leon Imao, Sio Montera, Paul Eric Roca, and Veejay Villafranca. Each piece is meticulously crafted to explore themes of freedom, resistance, and identity, offering an enriching dialogue between the past and the present.
