A Guide on How To Get That Viral Makeup Look for Your Passport Photo

A Guide on How To Get That Viral Makeup Look for Your Passport Photo

A regrettable passport photo? We’ve all been there and people rarely look their best in ID photos. After all, it’s hard to pose for the camera when lighting is harsh and a strict policy towards makeup. The worst part is getting stuck with this same image for the next TEN years. Fortunately, if you would like to take your passport photos looking flawless, TikTok has you covered.

You’ve probably seen this particular photo of Chie Filomeno—we’re just as obsessed as you are, and luckily Chie was generous enough to guide us through this look. “’Think murder’ while taking that ID photo,” she posts. In both her Instagram and TikTok accounts, she shared the makeup products she used. It includes a Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. Following Chie, our favourite Filipino content creators have set themselves the challenge of creating the perfect passport photo makeup look. Here are some tips from Kai Javier, Miss Nate, and Perey Lierge.

Skin is Key

For Miss Nate, the main takeaway is that you can still see your real skin show through. To achieve a more natural finish, try using a skin tint instead of foundation. In the video, the makeup artist uses the Issy & Co. Skin Tint.

Rosy Flush

Perey Lierge follows the trend by doing a natural and rosy makeup look. For her cheeks, she achieved a flushed look using the Happy Skin Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint.

Mist and Fix

Kai Javier doesn’t want to show us her passport photo—it’s supposedly that bad. But now, she knows better. For the beauty content creator, finish the look with the Mac Fix + Setting Spray which allows makeup to look less cakey and more seamless and skin-like.
