Beyond his international acclaim as an actor and singer, Win Metawin Opasiamkajorn has solidified his status as a fashion icon. At just 25, he has graced numerous fashion weeks and collaborated with world-class brands. Now, he is officially the face of PUMA Thailand, marking a significant partnership with the globally renowned sportswear giant.

“It is such an honour to be part of the PUMA Family as a brand ambassador for Thailand. PUMA’s fashion-forward athletic wear is a perfect match for my lifestyle.

“PUMA masterfully blends athleticism and style. Their unwavering commitment to performance innovation is evident in every product, making them a go-to for workouts and everyday adventures. I can effortlessly incorporate PUMA’s many pieces into my wardrobe, from the office to the gym and beyond. Their sneakers, in particular, have become my trusted companions. PUMA’s inclusive approach, catering to diverse ages and genders, solidifies its position as a truly universal brand. If you haven’t experienced the PUMA difference firsthand, owning at least a pair of their sneakers is a must. You will love them as much as I do,” says Win Metawin.

Now that we are shooting this PUMA fashion set photoshoot cover, let’s start with your favourite PUMA sneakers.

The PUMA Palermo is my absolute go-to. Its unparalleled comfort and versatility make it a staple in my wardrobe. With a diverse colour palette, it’s incredibly easy to style for any occasion, though black and white will always be classic favourites. The PUMA Speedcat, which I’m wearing today for the shoot, adds a playful edge to any outfit. It’s my instant mood booster, perfect for days when I want to inject some fun into my look.

Inspired by the high-octane world of motorsport, the Speedcat seamlessly transitions from the racetrack to everyday life, exemplified by the iconic red and black colourways. As always, PUMA consistently delivers a diverse range of styles and collections.

How do you mix and match such athletic items to your daily life?

I tend to mix and match my wardrobe. Sneakers and jeans create a casual yet stylish look. It also depends on everyone’s preferences. Fashion today is more open, allowing us to dress however we want. PUMA products’ diversity and range of expression enable them to be incorporated into various styles and settings, including formal occasions. Pairing sneakers with luxury items like what we’re doing today can be a bold fashion statement. PUMA kills every look.

Now, let’s talk about your personal life. What’s the best word that can represent you both in the past and present?

In the past, I’d say ‘fun’ best represented me because I didn’t have any clear life goal. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I just enjoyed life with friends and got excited about new things. At present, ‘caring’ defines me because I work harder, and am walking a path with a clear goal in mind.

Compare yourself to a car. What’s the speed you’re at right now?

I think I’m currently at 80 km/h where I can still hit the brakes. I’m more cautious now compared to my younger self who was afraid of nothing. As one grows older, more responsibilities come into play. This speed is still quite fast but not dangerously slow. Sometimes I want to accelerate faster but I need to be able to slow down when I need to.

What do you spend your time on most?

I focus on my work and business. My business is growing and undergoing many changes, so I need to spend my time taking care of it. When I am free from work, I’d go for a workout.

But you’d never waste your time on…?

On things that are not useful, and physically and mentally unhealthy, as they can lead to burnout.

What’s the proudest most recent thing you have done?

My proudest and most recent accomplishment is the movie Under Parallel Skies, where I got the chance to be cast with international artist Jenella Salvador. It was my dream to collaborate with international crews, or even just be part of an international project. I felt immense pride once the project was completed.

Seems like you often worked abroad in the past two years. What have you learned from that?

Working in different countries has been a real eye-opener. Each place has its way of doing things and its kind of people. I’ve had to learn to go with the flow and figure out what works best. I learned a ton working on the international film project. Being PUMA’s guy in Thailand has been fantastic. I’m also looking forward to joining a PUMA event in Malaysia soon. I can’t wait to check it out! Another amazing perk of working abroad is meeting the fans there. It has made me feel loved, even when I’m far from home.

Your new project that we’re about to see at the end of this year is going to be Enigma 2, right? Can you tell us about your connection to the character Ajin? How did understanding Ajin help you get nominated for a Leading Actor award?

The already-announced projects are Enigma 2 and Scarlet Heart. I’m reprising my role as Ajin in Enigma 2. This character is incredibly challenging; it’s unlike anything I’ve done before. The story itself is unique, incorporating supernatural and superstitious elements, which demands a high level of imagination. Crafting this character was no easy feat. I had to conduct extensive research and preparation to truly understand him. I was determined to revisit this role before I forgot all the intricacies! [laughs] This project has pushed me beyond my limits with experiences like wire work, underwater scenes, and intense action sequences fulfilling a lifelong dream. It’s been both exhausting and incredibly rewarding.

You have a busy schedule but manage to take great care of yourself through exercise and diet, eating only once a day. How do you manage this?

I’m still on a diet, but I don’t eat once a day every day — perhaps every other day. If I overeat one day, I balance it by eating less the next. How do I do that? Well, I just want to look great [laughs] That’s it. I don’t like seeing my chubby cheeks in the mirror.

Could you tell us how you heal yourself when you feel down?

Talking with close friends and family can be incredibly helpful. It offers different perspectives. Sometimes, we can get so caught up in the negative that we overlook the positive aspects of a situation. Others may see things differently which can provide a fresh outlook.

I’m eager to grow older. I still feel like I haven’t fully matured yet. It feels like I spent forever in childhood. Now, I’m ready to start a new chapter.

You’d like your universe to be filled with…?

Food. Specifically, Souri macarons for survival! [laughs] Seriously, I’d love my world to be filled with what it is filled with these days. It’s amazing to be surrounded by such great people.

You’d be the happiest man when….?

When I can make my loved ones happy.

You’re now 25. Would you like to turn back time or continue growing older?

I’m eager to grow older. I still feel like I haven’t fully matured yet. It feels like I spent forever in childhood. Now, I’m ready to start a new chapter. I want to reach a point of maturity where I can support my parents and family.

What’s the most valuable lesson in your life?

I’ve learned to appreciate and pay attention to details. Caring about the little things in life is crucial. You can’t change the past so being mindful from the start can prevent regrets and sorrows.

How would you like yourself to be remembered?

Hm… As an artist who has gained fame in Thailand, I was initially quite distant from the international scene when I started in this industry. However, I’m steadily getting closer to achieving my dream of becoming a global figure and elevating the Thai entertainment industry on the world stage.

Lastly, please give us three songs that resonate well with your life.

I think Bodyslam’s songs resonate with my life, like Saeng Sut Tai (The Last Light). [laughs] It’s about life’s challenges and how perseverance can help you overcome them. Kwam Chuea (Belief) is another favourite; it’s about the power of self-belief. And then there’s Proh Bang (Fragile), which captures that feeling of being overwhelmed by responsibilities and the importance of coping with stress.
